Madaraka express: Mount Kenya is the highest mountain in Kenya and the second-highest in Africa, after Kilimanjaro. The highest peaks of the mountain are Batian, Nelion and Point Lenana. Climbing to 5,199 meters, Mount Kenya is the second tallest mountain in Africa. The scenery surrounding this designated World Heritage Site is breath-taking.
It is pristine wilderness with lakes, tarns, glaciers, dense forest, mineral springs and a selection of rare and endangered species of animals, high altitude adapted plains game and unique montane and alpine vegetation. Visitors can enjoy mountain climbing, camping and caving with the mountain’s rugged glacier-clad peaks providing the perfect backdrop.

Departure from Nairobi is at 0800 hrs (either from hotel or airport) to Nanyuki. The drive takes about 3 and half hours. The whole of the afternoon is spend preparing for the hike. Dinner and overnight at the Nanyuki Simba Safari Lodge.
Wake up at 0730am have your breakfast, then transfer from your hotel to Sirimon gate we spend about 20 minutes for park entry formalities and then hike to Old Moses Camp , hike through mountain forest, bamboo and rosewood up to the Old Moses Hut, gaining an elevation range of 700m in 3-4 hours.
This takes 3 to 4 hrs hikes (9 kms). Old Moses is where you acclimatize as you also come across different vegetation for dinner and overnight (3300m) Diner and overnight at Judmair Camp – mount kenya safaris
After the breakfast, prepare yourself and re-arrange the bag as we ascend the Sirimon Track to Likii North Valley, in this beautiful little valley below the subsidiary peaks of Teleki and Sendeyo, two ancient parasitic vents of the main peaks. {3990m}. Climb out of the Nortn Valley and into the Mackinders Valley one of the broadest valleys on the Mountain,
with many giant groundsels with good views of the main peaks and a brief stopover for picnic lunch along the valley. After lunch we will have like 3 hours to ascend to Shipton Camp just bellow the main peak of Batian and Nelion this normally takes 7-8hrs to get to the Shipton Camp. On arrival have a cup of hot coffee or tea as you wait for the dinner to be served. Dinner and overnight in Shipton Camp 4200m

Alpine ascent to the highest peak Pt. Lenana {4985m}starts at 0300hrs, taking 3-4 hours to reach Pt. Lenana 4985m (the hikers summit) in time to watch the sunrise. En route up the North Face little used by tourists, Four hours stiff walking to the summit. This is the most challenging bit of the Mount Kenya Trekking and will require a strong mind to reach to the summit.
On a clear day you can see the snow capped summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro miles away to the south. We normally get to the summit around 0600.0630hrs before the sun rise, take the photos as many as you can and then descend back to Shipton’s camp for breakfast. After the breakfast you will have like 2 hours relaxing in the Bandas as you prepare to descend further to Old Moses camp. dinner and overnight in the Old Moses Camp.
This day will be a great day for the trekkers, its an easy day to go by, take your breakfast around 0800am, then check out and start descending to the Park gate.
Upon arrival you will be met by our driver who will transfer you to Nanyuki town for lunch. After lunch proceed to Nairobi arriving late afternoon with a drop off to your hotel or back to the Airport to catch up with your flight back home or to the next destination. Or proceed on a short safari
