Lake Manyara Safari: Lake Manyara National Park is a protected area in Tanzania’s Arusha and Manyara Regions, situated between Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley. It is administered by the Tanzania National Parks Authority, and covers an area of 325 km2 (125 sq mi) including about 230 km2 (89 sq mi) lake surface. Lake Manyara area was used for sports hunting. In 1957, a game reserve was established. In 1960, it was given National Park status and in 1974 about 550 ha (1,400 acres) were added to the southern end. The majority of the land area of the park is a narrow strip running between the Gregory Rift wall to the west and Lake Manyara, an alkaline lake, to the east. The national park only includes the northwest quadrant of the lake, about 200 km 2 (77 sq mi).

You will be picked from the airport or hotel by our driver with a jeep for a short safari briefing then depart to Lake Manyara National park for game viewing. Lake Manyara National Park is located 126 km (78 mi) south west of Arusha and can be reached by car in an hour and a half. The park can also be reached easily from Babati the capital of Manyara Region.
Leopards, lions, cheetahs, elephants, blue monkeys, dik-dik, gazelles, hippopotami, Masai giraffe, impala, zebras and many more wild animals inhabit this park and many can be seen throughout the year. Today you will have an early morning breakfast and drive through the cooler highland region towards the Ngorongoro crater rim, arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. After lunch you will spend the day at leisure at the crater rim. The main feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Authority is the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera.
The crater, which formed when a large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself two to three million years ago, is 610 meters (2,000 feet) deep and its floor covers 260 square kilometers (100 square miles). Estimates of the height of the original volcano range from 4,500 to 5,800 meters (14,800 to 19,000 feet) high.
The crater floor is 1,800 meters (5,900 feet) above sea level. Wildlife is in abundance here. Lions, cheetah, elephants, buffalo’s, flamingos and hundreds of species of birds are found here. Diner and overnight at Ngorongoro wildlife lodge
Today you will have an early morning breakfast. After an early breakfast, you will start your descent on a narrow and steep road to the crater floor. The crater is inhabited by a spectacular array of wildlife, which includes zebras, hippos, hyenas, wildebeests, warthogs and the famous “Big Five” – buffalo, rhino, lion, elephant and leopard. Game drives here are done from 8:00am to 12:00pm. (Half day only). At mid day you will ascend to the crater rim for lunch at the lodge.
After Lunch drive to Tarangire National park (165km – 3hrs 30min drive) arriving in time for a short game drive on route to the lodge for refreshing. Diner and overnight at the lodge
Today you will have an early morning game drive from 6:30am to 8:00am time for breakfast. After breakfast you will have a mid morning gane drive until lunch time.
After lunch drive to Arusha for lunch then you will be dropped off at at the hotel or airport for your onward flight.
