Shimba Hills Tour. Shimba Hills National Reserve is a small National Reserve in the former Coast Province of Kenya, 33 km from Mombasa and 15 km from the coast. The reserve is an area of coastal rainforest, woodland and grassland. As one of the largest coastal forests in East Africa after Arabuko-Sokoke Forest, this reserve is rich in flora and fauna and hosts the highest density of African elephant in Kenya. Other animal species found in the area are Sable antelope, elephant shrew, bushy tailed mongoose and other small mammals like fruit bats. The forest is an important bird area and is endowed with forest birdlife while the grasslands hold localized species such as red-necked-Spur fowl, Croaking Cisticola and Zanzibar Red Bishop. The scenic Sheldrick Falls and the dense Mwaluganje Forest are also found here along with four campsites.

You will be picked from your hotel at 6:30am and drive to Shimba hills National park for game viewing with a guided walk to the shedrick falls. Shimba Hills National Reserve is a small National Park in the Coast Province of Kenya, 40 km from Mombasa and 25 km from Diani. The Park contains Kenya’s only population of Sable Antelopes and Buffaloes.

After lunch you will proceed with game drive until late afternoon then drive back to your coastal hotel arriving late in the afternoon. you will be dropped off at your hotel in South coast or North coast hotels
