4 Days Tsavo East Amboseli & Taita Hills

Day 1. MOMBASA – TSAVO EAST

Depart early in the morning at 6:00am and drive to Tsavo East. Arrive in time for game drive immediately after park entrance formalities at the gate. Lunch at Voi safari Lodge and watch animals drinking water at the water hales. After lunch proceed with game drive from 3.30pm until 6.00pm with chances of seeing some of the big 5 and many other animals. Tsavo East is located 333 km from Nairobi and 160km from Mombasa, it is one of the largest national parks in Kenya and covers an area of about 11,747 square kilometers. The park contains some fantastic terrain, including rivers, lakes, tarns, glaciers and peaks with a wide variety of vegetation, including grasslands, acacia vegetation, open plains and savanna. It is therefore recognized as one of the world’s leading bio-diversity strongholds. The park is also one of Kenya’s oldest national parks – it was opened in April 1948. Covering an area of about 40% of al land covered by Kenyan national parks, this park is a popular safari destination, especially due to easy accessibility from the coast. Spectacular views are yet another reason why droves of photographers frequent the park. Some of the popular destinations within the park include the Mudanda Rock and the Yatta Plateau, which is the world’s largest lava flow. Luggard’s Falls on the Galana River include shapely water-worn rocks. Visitors can view a variety of animals at the park, including elephant, rhino if lucky, lion, leopard, crocodile, waterbuck, kudu, gerenuk, zebra and Aruba Hunter’s hartebeest. You will observe the large herds of Red Elephants (Red due to red dust of tsavo) There are also about 500 species of birds, including the ostrich, and migratory birds like kestrels and buzzards. Day 2. TSAVO EAST – TSAVO WEST

Have an early morning game drive at 6:30 am until 8:00 am time for breakfast. After breakfast you will check out of the lodge and depart for Tsavo west arriving in time for game drive on route to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will relax until 4:00pm time for an afternoon game drive until 6:30pm.

Amboseli arriving in time for a short game drive enroute to the lodge for lunch. After lunch proceed with game drive from 3:30pm until 6.00pm. Amboseli offers an interesting contrast in appearance. It has a somewhat dry and dusty appearance, which can be attributed to the volcanic ash that came out of Mt Kilimanjaro when it last erupted. Mt Kilimanjaro is located just about 25 miles away.  The park was opened to visitors in April 1948. Visitors mainly come to watch the huge herds of elephants. There are about 900 elephants in the park. Wildlife here includes the zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala, caracal and serval cat, lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, wild dog, and hippo. There are also over 400 species of birds, including the bee-eater, kingfisher, African fish eagle, marital eagle and pygmy falcon. You will also enjoy excellent views of Mt Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru.Dinner and Overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge

Day 3. AMBOSELI  – TAITA HILLS 

Have an early morning game drive from 6:30am to 8.00amtime for breakfast. After breakfast. Depart for Taita hills Game reserve for lunch at Taita hill lodge. After lunch embark for an afternoon game drive from 3:30pm to 6:00pm. Taita hills game sanctuary is a private game reserve managed privately by Sarova Hotels, taken over from Hilton. The sanctuary boasts for big game, which includes Lion, cheetah, Elephants, Buffaloes and many more wild animals and bird life. (Optional you can go for a hot air balloon ride), this can be arranged in advance at extra cost in our office upon booking the safari.  Dinner and overnight at Saltlick Lodge or Lions Bluff Lodge

Day 4. TAITA HILLS – MOMBASA

Early morning game drive at 6:30am until 8:00am time for Breakfast. After breakfast proceed with game drive enroute voi town hotel for lunch. After lunch it’s bye bye and drive back to Mombasa. Arrive in your hotel in the evening.
